This year’s Danish contribution to the EUFF is a road movie about four girls who drive across Denmark in search of a future. All they really wanted was to pick up some smokes but one thing leads to another and they soon find themselves heading west in a stolen Volvo. For some of the girls there’s an old score to settle. For others, the trip is about a new sense of freedom. What the four girls have in common is they’re all trying to kick a drug habit. But maybe an abused substance abuser can’t be cured through therapy and methadone but instead through confrontation and forgiveness. (Source: dfi)
The director of the drama is Hella Joof, known for SHAKE IT ALL ABOUT (EN KORT EN LANG) and OH HAPPY DAY. Among the many great features of the film is how it spotlights the geographical beauty of Denmark, as well as the values of friendship and love.
On behalf of the Embassy staff, I hope to see many of you at the screening.
